SUE Barker has broken her silence after being axed from A Question of Sport after 24 years on the show. The former tennis champ, who has fronted the BBC One show since 1997, once described A Question Of Sport as “a part of my life”.

And now she's said she's "sad" that the BBC are shaking up the show. “I’ve absolutely loved my 24 years fronting A Question of Sport, it’s been my dream job," she said. "But I understand the BBC want to take the show in a new direction and I’m sad to say goodbye.” Earlier today it was revealed the BBC has axed Sue Barker, Matt Dawson and Phil Tufnell from A Question of Sport as the corporation shakes-up the long-running show.
