Buckingham Palace has confirmed that The Queen will not attend this year's summer garden parties. The 96 year old will be represented by other members of the Royal Family at this year's parties, held on May 11, 18 and 25 in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.
The monarch, who recently suffered a "security breach" as a man got past the Ministry of Defence just yards from Windsor Castle, will also skip the June 29th party at Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.
A spokesman said: "Her Majesty the Queen will be represented by other members of the royal family at this year's garden parties, with details on attendance to be confirmed in due course." The Queen has also given permission for her daughter Princess Anne to host The Not Forgotten Association Annual Garden Party on Thursday, 12 May.
Anne is a patron of The Not Forgotten Association Annual - which is a charity that provides entertainment, leisure and recreation for serving wounded, injured, or sick members of the Armed Forces and veterans with disabilities.
