The Scottish Prison Service’s training college was shut down after a suspected outbreak of Covid-19.Up to six trainers at the facility in Falkirk are believed to have been struck by the virus after one turned up to work with symptoms.The college is shutting for several weeks, during which time a deep clean can take place.
Recruitment sessions have transferred to online in the meantime.A co-worker who contacted the Record said questions were being asked as to why the worker with symptoms did not self isolate as soon as symptoms were being displayed.
One source said: “The guy was sent for a test after it became obvious that he had cold-like symptoms. By this time he should have been staying away.
