Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.
He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.
Prince Andrew to attend Philip memorial in first official sighting since settlement
ok.co.ukPrince Andrew is planning to attend the memorial service for his late father Prince Philip.The Duke of York, 62, is expected to appear at the service at Westminster Abbey honouring his late father on 29 March.The service will celebrate the life of the late Duke of Edinburgh, who died last April at the age of 99.
A spokesperson for the Prince confirmed the news that he will be present at the memorial service to the BBC . He’s expected to attend the event alongside his daughters Princess Beatrice and Eugenie, as well as the Queen and his siblings – Prince Charles, Princess Anne and Prince Edward.
It will be the Prince's first official public appearance since he settled an out-of-court financial settlement with Virginia Giuffre, who accused the Duke of sexual assault.
The amount of money paid to Virginia Giuffre, 38, is undisclosed but sources have suggested it could be as much as £12 million .
