Pony escapes with bumps and bruises after being rescued from trailer following crash

A young pony was left trapped and had to be rescued by firefighters following a road traffic collision involving the vehicle pulling his trailer.

Animal rescue trained firefighters attended the road traffic collision on August 20, involving a heavy goods vehicle and a vehicle pulling a horse trailer that had left the pony, three-year-old Romeo, stuck inside.

Crews from Cheshire and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Services attended the scene on the A500 Barthomley, near Crewe at 1.05pm and specialist equipment was used by the firefighters and animal rescue team to release Romeo, who was trapped in the trailer.
