An A82 relief road is closer to reality after plans took a major step forward.West Dunbartonshire Council has now lodged planning permission in principle to build the alternative route between Dumbuck and Bowling junctions, as well as an overhaul of the former Dunglass Oil Depot.The proposals have been several years in the making with the local authority formally submitting the plans, which include detailed documents revealed for the first time.Supporters say a relief road is much needed on the major road and will help ease congestion on the busy route.The plan is to develop the site, create a link road with upgraded junctions on the A82 and A814, a railway underbridge and an overbridge, landscaping, green network and public realm.
