Person rushed to hospital after M8 horror crash near Glasgow Airport

Airport. Police raced to the single-vehicle smash, understood to have involved van, at around 7.07am this morning. Ambulance crews took one casualty to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

It is unknown how serious their injuries are at this time.The lane at J28 going eastbound was closed until 8.14am.The closure sparked traffic chaos with motorists facing delays of up to 40 minutes.A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 7:19am to attend an incident on the M8 between junction 28 and 27."An A&E crew were dispatched to the scene and one patient was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.”Traffic Scotland tweeted: "Lane 2 is blocked E/B at J28 due to an RTC Police and TRISS en route Traffic.
