Personal Independence Payment (PIP ) is a benefit for people aged over 16 and under State Pension age who need help with daily living tasks or getting around outside their home as a result of a long-term illness, disability or mental health condition.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) could award you between £23.70 and £152.15 per week, usually paid every four weeks, so that amounts to between £94.80 and £608.60 each month.
The amount you get depends on how your condition affects you - not the condition itself. PIP is made up of two components, a daily living component and a mobility component, and both carry different payments rates - standard or enhanced.
