Partially blind Scots pensioner marries sight guide he met on Spanish holiday for visually impaired

He’d hoped the Spanish trip would rekindle his wanderlust but he never dreamed his guide Heather would later become his wife.

They tied the knot at the end of May after meeting three years ago in Camino de Santiago, in northern Spain, on a trip organised by a specialist tour operator for the visually impaired."I had a place out in Mallorca for many years, so I resorted to going out there for fairly extended periods of four to six weeks but it was becoming more difficult," said Alan, who has a condition called pathological myopic macular degeneration.He lost his first wife.
