OUR Girl’s Fingers actor has revealed his heart-breaking last words to Georgie were inspired by a real life soldier. Viewers of the BBC One drama were left devastated last night when Fingers, played by Sean Ward, died after being shot by the enemy last week.

Despite the best efforts of medic Georgie (Michelle Keegan) and the rest of the squad to get him to safety while under attack from enemy fire, Fingers suffered a bleed and a collapsed lung and died of his injuries.

Before he did, he mouthed 'I'm sorry' to Georgie, and Sean explained how his words were inspired by a real life army event.
