Demonstrators climbed onto the roof of Pilgrim’s Pride Ltd's slaughterhouse on Bow Street on Monday morning (September 7).One person had to be taken to hospital from the scene, the ambulance service confirmed.Six people - three men and three women - have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespassing.Protesters and police officers remain at the scene this afternoon.Police said they are 'engaging with a woman on the roof'.The Animal Rebellion group is responsible for the demonstration.Campaigners say they want to 'transition the food system into one which just, sustainable and plant-based'.Bosses at Pilgrim's Pride Ltd  - which 'provides fresh, locally sourced poultry, as well as beef, pork and vegetarian products' -.
