Paul Mescal gets Emmy nomination for role in Normal People

breakingnews.ieIrish actor Paul Mescal has received an Emmy nomination for his performance in Normal People. He was nominated for outstanding lead actor in a limited series or movie alongside Hugh Jackman, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Irons and Jeremy Pope.
Normal People, the TV adaptation of Sally Rooney's bestselling novel, received three other nominations: Lenny Abrahamson for directing, Sally Rooney and Alice Birch for scriptwriting and Louise Kiely for casting.
The series aired on RTÉ One, the BBC and streaming service Hulu. British star Olivia Colman was recognised in the category of outstanding lead actress in a drama for her portrayal of the Queen in Netflix’s The Crown, while Jodie Comer, who won the award last year, was nominated for Killing Eve.
