New Scottish child benefit pays out £17.6m to families in need since February - how to claim

new Scottish Child Paym ent benefit from its introduction in February to the end of June, 2021. Overall, the Scottish Government has paid out £17.6 million to families during that period through the £10 per week benefit which is unique to Scotland and has the potential to help around 133,000 children - averaged over this financial year, according to Scottish Fiscal Commission forecasts published last week.

The Scottish Child Payment supports low-income families with children aged under six and provides regular, additional financial support for those in receipt of qualifying benefits.
