Pundit Michael Stewart has dismissed claims Rangers got away with a missed penalty in their narrow win over Livingston. A Scott Arfield stunner won it for the hosts on a night when they struggled to break down David Martindale 's organised side.
But Livi were left fuming as they claimed that youngster Alex Lowry got away with handling the ball on the goal-line as he knocked the ball back to Allan McGregor.
Replays showed though that the midfielder had chested it to his goalkeeper and Stewart feels the Rangers rising star had no case to answer.
He said on Sportscene: "I think it would have been extremely harsh if this was given as a penalty kick."You see him at the back post and for me it comes off his chest back into Allan McGregor's arms."There are a number of angles and the difficulty for the referee is he doesn't see it at all because he's blocked by a number of players who are between himself and the ball."But Alex Lowry leans in with his chest and it comes off his chest.
