Rangers are sweating over the fitness of Ianis Hagi after he was forced off with an apparent knee injury against Stirling Albion.
The Romanian international started the Scottish Cup tie at Ibrox, but his night ended early after an unfortunate incident. The Rangers star appeared to jar his knee and went down to the turf in obvious pain.
Physios were quick to apply treatment to the 23-year-old, who did manage to get to his feet. That offered hope he'd be able to return to the fray but Gio van Bronckhorst was clearly taking no chances with Hagi.
The creative midfielder was not able to continue and hobbled around the pitch to the tunnel as he was replaced by debutant Alex Lowry. While the fact Hagi was able to able to walk will be a boost for the Premiership champions, there will still be concerns over the severity of the knock.Rangers have already lost Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey to the Africa Cup of Nations, and they could miss the big showdown with Celtic.Alfredo Morelos has been called up by Colombia and will miss the trip to Parkhead, so another absence is the last thing Van Bronckhorst needs.
