Michael Carrick addresses Manchester United search for two new managers

Michael Carrick has no plans to urge his Manchester United bosses to accelerate the decision-making process over appointing a new manager.

The 40-year-old has been placed in caretaker charge after the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday, but United have given no indication of how long his spell in charge of the club will be.

In the statement confirming Solskjaer's departure, United also said they planned to appoint an interim manager until the end of the season and then a permanent manager in the summer.

That could lead to United's squad having three new managers in the space of seven months, with Carrick the first to get a crack at the job.
