Man seriously injured after being struck by car on Glasgow motorway as cops launch witness appeal

Glasgow motorway. The 30-year-old was walking on the M8 near Charing Cross when he was hit by a blue Renault Clio. He was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where his condition is described as serious but stable.

The incident happened at about 11.50pm on Wednesday night, with the man walking on the eastbound side of the carriageway at Junction 17.

Emergency services were called to deal with the crash, with an ambulance conveying the man to hospital, where he remains for treatment.

The driver of the blue Renault Clio was not injured.Police are now appealing for witnesses as they attempt to find out the circumstances surrounding the serious incident.
