Emergency services raced to the scene before cops sealed off the motorway for about an hour as the smashed vehicle was recovered.
The man was taken to hospital but it's believed he has since been released.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a crash involving a single car on the M8 eastbound near junction 18 around 7.25am on Friday, 25 December."One man was taken to hospital as a precaution and the vehicle was recovered.".
