Ella Kemp Guest Contributor Janelle Monáe reflected on her multifaceted career at a Screen Talk hosted by BFI London Film Festival programmer Grace Barber-Plentie. The conversation, which took place ahead of the European premiere of “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery,” included the musician-actor citing Johnny Depp’s career as one she’d like to emulate given the “transformative” characters he has played. Monáe stressed that it was only Depp’s acting career that she admired, and not Depp as a person. “When I think about careers, this person’s life as an actor, only… Johnny Depp has a very badass career,” Monae said, citing Willy Wonka and Sweeney Todd as “dramatic roles” she aspires to play in her own work. “Whatever the Janelle Monáe version of them is, maybe it’s something even better, I want to be able to do those transformative characters that people are dressing up as for Halloween.”

Through the agreement, Bailon-Houghton will pursue unscripted opportunities across NBCU platforms to serve as a host and/or producer across the company’s broadcast, cable, streaming and syndication programming. Bailon-Houghton first broke out as the lead singer of R&B girl group 3LW, then went on to become a founding member of the pop group the Cheetah Girls and starred in the movies “The Cheetah Girls,” “The Cheetah Girls 2” and “The Cheetah Girls: One World.” Other TV and movie credits include “That’s So Raven,” “Raven’s Home,” “All You’ve Got,” “Lovestruck,” “Coach Carter” and “I’m in Love with a Church Girl.” Later in her career she serves as a co-host of “The Real” from 2013 to 2022, which in 2018 earned her a shared Emmy for entertainment talk show host.

As the Twitter war between the two went full-bore Thursday night and Friday morning, Minaj called the newcomer “an entitled Karen,” while Latto returned fire by saying that Minaj was “a 40-year-old bully” acting in a way unbecoming of her age and stature. The younger artist even referred to Minaj as “my idol-turned-rival” as the conversation went nuclear. “Super freaky grandma is married AND related to fucking rapists. You ain’t gone bully me BITCH! My idol turned rival now u hating!”

Zack Sharf Daniel Radcliffe has issued a statement after the death of his “Harry Potter” co-star Robbie Coltrane, calling the late actor “one of the funniest people I’ve met.” Coltrane, who died at the age of 72, starred as Rubeus Hagrid in the “Harry Potter” film franchise and shared dozens of scenes with Radcliffe across the films. The two actors starred together in all eight “Harry Potter” movies, from “Sorcerer’s Stone” in 2001 to “Death Hallows – Part 2” in 2011. “Robbie was one of the funniest people I’ve met and used to keep us laughing constantly as kids on the set,” Radcliffe’s statement reads. “I’ve especially fond memories of him keeping our spirits up on ‘Prisoner of Azkaban,’ when we were all hiding from the torrential rain for hours in Hagrid’s hut and he was telling stories and cracking jokes to keep morale up. I feel incredibly lucky that I got to meet and work with him and very sad that he’s passed. He was an incredible actor and a lovely man.”

The Real Housewives of Orange County” star Vicki Gunvalson is returning to the show, she insisted at BravoCon on Friday that she won’t be coming back as a cast member or friend of — though she has filmed a few scenes. “I’m not on as a cast member, I’m not on as a friend of,” Gunvalson told Variety. “I definitely did film a couple scenes.” During an “Ultimate Girls Trip” panel, Variety’s Elizabeth Wagmeister, who moderated, asked producers whether Gunvalson is joining “Orange County.” Alfonso Rosales, a co-executive producer on “Ultimate Girls Trip,” said he does not believe she is joining as a full-time cast member. A source tells Variety that she is in fact not joining as a full-time cast member or as a friend of the Housewives — but that she did film a few cameos, including a lunch scene.

Actor Stephen Fry and author JK Rowling have lead a string of poignant tributes to the late Robbie Coltrane, after his sad death was announced on Friday at the age of 72. The Scottish star, whose real name is Anthony Robert McMillan, was best known for playing the beloved Hogwarts gamekeeper Hagrid and starring as criminal psychologist Dr Eddie ‘Fitz’ Fitzgerald in ITV’s crime drama Cracker. He tragically passed away at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert, near Falkirk in Scotland, his agent of 40 years Belinda Wright confirmed on Friday.

Netflix thriller series The Watcher has been criticised by viewers over its climax.Starring Naomi Watts and Bobby Canavale, the seven-episode miniseries is based on the true story of the Broaddus family who, after moving into their dream home in Westfield, New Jersey, are harassed through letters signed by a stalker named ‘The Watcher’.The show is created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, known for their collaborations on Glee, The Politician, Ratched and most recently, Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.Much like the actual case, which went unsolved, The Watcher ends on a similarly ambiguous note, with no concrete reveal of who the stalker actually is.Some viewers, while praising the series, have expressed their frustration at the show’s lack of resolution, writing: “Binge watched the watcher today.
