Man fighting for life in hospital after falling from bridge over M60

Both carriageways of the motorway were closed for around an hour due to the ‘police incident’ on Saturday night (June 5). Police were called to a bridge on Broadway, in Chadderton, Oldham, just before 7.30pm.

A man later fell from the bridge, Greater Manchester Police said. He was rushed to hospital by ambulance “with potential life-changing injuries”.

The force has today confirmed that the man is “still in hospital in life-threatening condition”. The M60 was closed in both directions between junction 22 for Oldham and junction 23 for Ashton-under-Lyne as emergency crews
