A 54-year-old man has been charged after a car crashed into a wall at Edinburgh Airport in front of shocked travellers. Police were called to the scene shortly after 11.30am on Monday October 10 after the black off-roader crashed through a barrier close to the terminal entrance in Ingliston.

A video of the aftermath, shared on TikTok, showed the car surrounded by police, fire and ambulance vehicles outside the entrance to the airport's multistorey car park.

Police say that the incident is not being treated as terror-related and it is not yet known what caused the accident. However, Edinburgh Live reports that the driver was transported by ambulance to hospital for treatment.

Several firefighters and police officers are seen examining the site of the crash in the clip. Officers say the motorist has also been reported to prosecutors in connection with alleged road traffic offences.
