Man accused of murdering Stockport mum after human remains found in park could go on trial later this year

A man accused of murdering a Stockport mum could go on trial in the autumn. Thomas McCann, 48, appeared before a judge at Manchester Crown Court this morning.

He is accused of murdering Yvonne McCann, as per the indictment. The case was adjourned following the brief hearing. It will next be heard in August.

A trial date was set for November 16. Mr McCann, of Rosslave Walk, Brinnington, Stockport, appeared in court by video link. The charge follows the discovery of human remains at a beauty spot in Stockport.

At around 10.30am on Monday, May 25, police were called to reports that a member of the public had found human remains in Reddish Vale Country Park.
