M9 'ongoing incident' as cops race to Stirling and cars gridlocked in traffic

Police have shut down the M9 in both directions in Stirling amid an ongoing incident. Motorists are being diverted from the busy road as officers remain at the scene.

Cops raced to the scene after the alarm was raised at 4.50pm on Saturday amid a concern for a person, believed to be a woman.Officers remain at the scene.The motorway remains shut in both directions between Junctions 9 and 10.Traffic Scotland warned of major tailbacks as traffic remains heavy in the area.A police spokesperson said: "Around 4.50pm on Saturday January 30, police received a report of a concern for person on the M9 southbound Torbrex Flyover."Emergency services are in attendance and the road has been closed in both directions between J9 and J10.
