Jessica Ann Johnson (born July 10, 1980) is an American singer, actress, fashion designer, and author. After performing in church choirs as a child, Simpson signed with Columbia Records in 1997, at age 16. Jessica Simpson has opened up about how she confronted her past abuser during an episode of Katherine Schwarzenegger‘s podcast, The Gift of Forgiveness.

The 40-year-old singer revealed that the confrontation happened about eight years ago and Jessica shared the exchange that happened.

She first spoke out about the abuse in her new book, “Open Book”, and said that the abuser in question was someone that was considered a family friend. “I went to her and I just said, ‘I know you know what was going on and I know that you were being abused,’ because she was being abused by an older guy,” Jessica explained. “He was always there at the house as well, so he never touched me, but he would abuse her and she would come to me and do the stuff to me
