Last week, James Blake shared his latest studio album Friends That Break Your Heart. The tracklist sported features from the likes of SZA, J.I.D., and others, but nothing from slowthai, who enlisted Blake on last year's "feel away." Today, Blake has dropped off an updated version of the track "Funeral" with a verse from the U.K.
rapper. The song's — ahem — funereal soul vibe may not sound like something you'd expect to appeal to slowthai, but Blake told us for last week's FADER Interview podcast that it's what he wants out of his features. "I like people who are interested in the sonics as well," he said of collaborations, "like interested in experimenting and seeing what we could do that's new that people might not expect.
