manchestereveningnews.co.ukdirect to your inboxAn inquest has been opened into the death of a young woman who lost her life after being hit by a car in Tameside.Antonia St Louis, 27, was struck by a Volkswagen Golf on Manchester Road in Ashton-under-Lyne in the early hours of Saturday, November 2.Stockport Coroners' Court heard police were called to the scene, where they found Miss St Louis lying in the road.Paramedics raced to the scene, but she was sadly pronounced dead when they arrived.A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by driving without due care and attention.He has since been released under investigation, police said.An inquest into Miss St Louis' death opened today (January 8) by area coroner for south Manchester Chris Morris.Police.
