Imelda May has shared that due to the number of hateful messages she receives on a daily basis, she’s been forced to go to the police.
The Irish singer released a poetry EP last year titled Slip of the Tongue which included the poem You Don’t Get to be Racist and Irish which spoke directly of race issues worldwide and at home.
As a result, Imelda says she’s received nearly constant ‘scary’ backlash online which has escalated over time. ‘Since I wrote You Don’t Get to be Racist and Irish, I’ve had negativity daily for 10 months,’ the singer told RTE Guide. ‘But what I’ve realised is that the people who give me that anger and hatred, seem to do that all day to everybody and I’d hate to live that life. ‘I’ve also noticed that most of them
