The deal between Ground Rents Income Fund (GRIF) and an as-yet-unnamed investor has boosted hopes that repair works costing up to £9m will go ahead.
The tower has been the subject of a complex and bitter legal battle for more than seven years. A defect in the structural bonds used to fix glass cladding to Beetham's frame was first identified during routine maintenance in 2014.
Beetham is owned by North West Ground Rents Ltd, a subsidiary of GRIF, whose only asset is the 47-storey tower on Deansgate that contains 219 apartments and a Hilton branded hotel.
