‘I was a massive child’ Doireann Garrihy feels she wasn’t put front stage because of her weight

Doireann Garrihy has opened up about how being a bigger child affected her when she was in performing school, while also revealing that she now tries to be nicer to her younger self.

The RTÉ 2FM presenter appeared on the Mario Rosenstock Podcast where she spoke about life on social media, being in breakfast radio competition with her godfather Ian Dempsey and being a bigger child while she was in performance schools.

From a young age, her parents knew she had a talent for performing and so enrolled her in Billie Barry Stage School, as well as speech and drama, but Doireann admitted that she sometimes felt her weight affected her on stage.
