A multi-story apartment building was hit by a rocket in Kyiv on Friday (25 February), injuring at least three people. Shocking photos show the aftermath of the rocket launch, which caused the building to catch fire, the Kyiv mayor said.
Ukraine's President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that the Russian military’s claim it is not targeting civilian areas is “a lie," with both military and civilian areas being attacked. Meanwhile the Ukrainian foreign minister, Dmytro Kuleba, said in a tweet just before 4am on Friday that “horrific rocket strikes” hit the capital in an attack he compared to the city’s 1941 shelling by Nazi Germany. “Last time our capital experienced anything like this was in 1941 when it was attacked by Nazi Germany,” he said. “Ukraine defeated that evil and will defeat this one.
