Hans Zimmer is celebrating in his own way. The 64-year-old German composer reacted to his Oscar win from a hotel room in Amsterdam during the 2022 Academy Awards on Sunday (March 27) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. He was unable to accept the award in person, so instead, he celebrated with his daughter, a mini statue and a drink at his hotel room. “It’s 2 a.m.

in Amsterdam, and my daughter Zoë woke me up to go to the hotel bar. Wow!!” he tweeted. He also posted photos of himself with a mini Oscar statue.

Fun fact: his win set the record for longest gap between wins for Best Original Score. He won his first Oscar for the score of The Lion King back in 1994.
