Grand Designs has been compared to a "crematorium" by unimpressed viewers. The Channel 4 show saw Nathan and Amye purchase a plot of land for £100,000 with plans to build a Dutch-inspired barn house with a contemporary twist.

Appearing on Grand Designs, the couple said they hoped to complete their dream home in 12 months with a budget of £400,000 - but it didn't exactly go to plan.
