Liam James Payne (born 29 August 1993) is an English singer and songwriter.
He rose to fame as a member of the boy band One Direction.
Payne made his debut as a singer when he auditioned for the British television series The X Factor in 2008. After being eliminated as a solo performer, he auditioned again in 2010 and was put into a group with four other contestants to form One Direction
GMB union call off binmen's strike action against West Lothian Council
dailyrecord.co.ukA threatened strike by binmen in West Lothian over a drugs testing policy has been called off by the GMB.The union’s members in West Lothian Council working across waste services have a live industrial action mandate regarding the proposed introduction of a revised Drug and Alcohol policy that will bring in targeted random testing.
GMB members voted 83.9% for industrial action after the council introduced the random tests in September last year. They have yet to be implemented.The council was warned in early February that the dispute could reach a strike as the union felt its members were being singled out by reandom testing applying only to them.
