Glasgow high school has welcomed boys into the classroom for first time in 120 years. Former all girls school, Notre Dame High, made history yesterday as 48 boys joined 92 girls in first year.

The West End high school was the last local authority all-girls school in the country. It comes after a public consultation lead to councillors making the unanimous decision to finally welcome a cohort of boys for the first time.Boys are now enrolling from S1 in the first year and each year thereafter but there will be no placing requests granted for boys to other year groups.The new catchment area for the school was part of the consultation and there are now three associated primary schools - Notre Dame Primary School, St Joseph’s Primary School and.
