Cops have confirmed they will take no further action against former MP George Galloway after he attended a football match during lockdown.

The Dundee -born politician visited Dumfries to watch Dundee take on Queen of the South at the weekend. Police Scotland said earlier it was "looking into the matter to establish if any offences were committed and whether any further action may be appropriate." The probe was revealed after the former Glasgow MP took to Twitter to tweet about his attendance at the Championship clash.

But the force has now confirmed that no further action is to be taken against the 66-year-old, who was Labour MP for Glasgow Kelvin from 1987 to 1997.
