George at Asda forced to recall children's hoodies over fears of 'entrapment'

George at Asda has issued a recall notice on two lines of children’s hoodies after it was discovered that the jumpers’ drawstring cords could cause a “potential risk of entrapment”.

In an alert sent out by the supermarket, the brand announced that its pulling the 304 Soda hoodie Jnr and 304 World hoodie Jnr, in both the pink and mint colourway, from sale.

A product recall usually takes place when an item is identified as defective or potentially unsafe. In this case, parents have been warned by Asda that the pink and mint hoodies aimed at children have drawstring cords that could cause entrapment.

The store explained: “'If you have purchased 304 Soda hoodie Jnr Mint or 304 World hoodie Jnr Pink with any of the barcodes listed, please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund.This product has been recalled due to a potential issue with the drawcords, which may cause a risk of entrapment. “You do not need your receipt.
