Martin's books and set 300 years before the events of, the upcoming series tells the story of House Targaryen centuries before reign of the Mad King and Daenerys Stormborn.Emma D’Arcy stars as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, the first-born child of King Viserys Targaryen (Paddy Considine).

Winter is coming once again.

“House of the Dragon,” the series will be set around 300 years before the events of “Game of Thrones” and it will follow members of House Targaryen.So, expect lots of dragons, silver wigs and dalliances that keep it in the family.

HBO has had a few false starts when it comes to expanding the “Game of Thrones” universe. After the lackluster (putting it mildly) end of the series a couple of years ago, the network is extra cautious with what series they release next, as it’s clear fans are going to probably enter the deal with a bit of skepticism.
