Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Celtic. Neil Lennon had hoped to secure Forster for a third spell at the Hoops last summer, but the England cap opted to stay in England.

Lennon has been forced to frequently rotate his number one since the England cap returned to his parent club between £5million signing Vasillis Barkas, Scott Bain and rookie keeper Conor Hazard.

The 32-year-old made his first appearance for the Saints in almost two years on Monday night in the win over Liverpool, stepping in for Alex McCarthy after the stopper tested positive for COVID-19.

After his return to the starting line-up, his first minutes of the season for the club, Forster says it was always his goal to return from Parkhead and reclaim his place between the sticks.
