Summer drop-in clinics for the Covid-19 vaccine open today for children and adults across Ayrshire. Everyone aged five years old and over is eligible for vaccination, helping to protect yourself against coronavirus.Ayrshire residents do not need an appointment to attend and are told to simply turn up at the location that suits you best and, if eligible, you will be able to get your vaccination.

Lynne McNiven, NHS Ayrshire & Arran Public Health Director, said vaccination teams across the region will continue to provide jabs throughout the summer for anyone who needs it.She said: “I appreciate that as life gets back to normal, people may not be prioritising their vaccines but it is precisely because of the success of the vaccination programme that we are now enjoying activities and social connections as we did pre-pandemic.“That is why I would urge anyone who is due a Covid vaccine to make sure they complete the course, whether you are eligible for two, three or four vaccines, having all the doses you are eligible for will offer you the highest level of protection against coronavirus, which can be serious at any age."Ms McNiven added it’s “not too late” for those who are severely immunosuppressed or aged 75 years or over to receive a vaccine, and anyone with additional support requirements can call ahead on 01563 826540 to discuss any adjustments required.Ayrshire Live have compiled a list of the drop-in clinics available this week:•Monday, July 18ASDA Ayr (Mobile Vaccination Unit) from 9.30am to midday and 1pm to 6pmGrand Hall, Kilmarmock from 8.30am to midday and 1pm to 7pm•Tuesday, July 19Ayr Racecourse from 8.30am to midday and 1pm to 7pm•Wednesday, July 20ASDA Kilmarnock (Mobile Vaccination Unit) from 9.30am to
