Former Manchester United academy defender Reece Brown has admitted that current Newcastle United and former Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe wanted to sign him.
The now-30-year-old trained with the Reds first-team under Sir Alex Ferguson as a youngster, sharing a reserve dressing room with Paul Pogba during his four-year stay with United.
During his loan spell at Ipswich, a plan was said to be in place which would see him join the English tactician after being offered a deal with the Tractor Boys towards the end of his deal at Carrington but he turned it down.
After a chat with then-Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy, he learned of the plans that would see him move to the Premier League outfit.
