Firefighters tackle flames following crash on busy main road

Emergency crews were called following reports of a traffic collision involving two vehicles on Middleton Road, in Crumpsall, in the early hours of Thursday (July 15).

A crew from Blackley fire station attended and put out the fire at around 2.20am. Firefighters used hose reels to extinguish flames at one vehicle.

The road was closed off at the junction with Victoria Avenue for around an hour. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 2.20am on Thursday 15 July, firefighters were called to reports of a road
