For the latest Stockport news sign up to the MyStockport newsletter here Two research scientists have paid tribute to the nurses and medics that helped them following the tragic death of their newborn baby boy.

Jos Tartèse-Joy died in December aged just six days old a coroner heard. He died at the Royal Oldham Hospital after suffering from a lack of oxygen during birth, the hearing was told.

An inquest has now been opened with a coronial investigation into his death underway. Following the hearing Jos' parents, both research scientists from Marple Bridge in Stockport said they wanted to pay tribute to all the staff at the Royal Oldham who cared for Jos and helped them in their hour of need.
