The popular attraction has been closed throughout much of the coronavirus pandemic but bosses are planning on getting back on track for May 1.

However, the ELR has been forced to run regular clean-up patrols, which have seen volunteers remove extensive amounts of rubbish dumped along the heritage railway’s twelve miles of tracks, stretching from Heywood through Bury to Rawtenstall.
