An ex-Barclays worker has been jailed after taking part in a scam which saw £68,000 taken from customers. Afolabi Adepoju, 32, passed confidential security details to fraudsters who would call up the bank or go online posing as legitimate customers.

Adepoju, who worked in the bank’s branch on Mosley Street in Manchester city centre, provided details of over 10 accounts in order for money to be withdrawn.

Manchester Crown Court heard Adepoju, from Blakely, used a colleague's iPad and login details to access private information.

The total amount defrauded from the bank was just under £70,000. It was said the bank and its customers have now been reimbursed.
