Chistmas presents from under the tree of a Lanarkshire home before making off in the family's car. The callous criminals hit the home on Hamilton Road in Larkhall on Thursday morning.

The vehicle, a Peugeot 3008 with the registration FRZ9456, was pinched during the raid of the property - which happened sometime between late Wednesday night and 7.20am on Thursday.

Police are appealing for information after the devastated family awoke to find their house ransacked just days before Christmas.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of the theft of a Peugeot 3008 car from outside a property around 7.20am on Thursday, 17 December. "A number of Christmas gifts was also stolen from inside the property.
