English Premier League Kicks Off New China Deal With Tencent

Patrick Frater Asia Bureau ChiefThe English Premier League, soccer’s most lucrative club championship, will return to screens in China from this weekend.

A new deal has been struck with Tencent Sports.The deal replaces one that the EPL canceled at the beginning of the month, after licensee PPTV failed to keep up license payments.The English season has only just started, and Tencent will be able to play all 372 remaining matches live via its digital platforms WeChat, QQ.com, Tencent Video, Penguin Live App, Tencent News App, Tencent Sports App and Kan Dian.

Film music legend SP Balasubrahmanyam has died, aged 74
BBC News and CNN, the acclaimed Indian singer had been hospitalised and placed in intensive care after being diagnosed with COVID-19 back in August.Balasubrahmanyam was reportedly first admitted to hospital in the southern city of Chennai  in early August after testing positive for the coronavirus.
