Kilmarnock could be converted into office space for start-up firms if East Ayrshire Council wins funding.Currently, the property is owned by the council but plans are underway to transfer ownership to Celebrate Kilmarnock.The transformation would create 30 new jobs while retaining 12 roles as well as supporting 15 construction posts.And there would also training opportunities at the King Street base – dubbed the creative industries campus.Council officials are gearing up to submit a funding application to the Scottish Government Regeneration Capital Grant Fund for 2022 to 2023.
The bid was signed off at a cabinet meeting today.The council previously allocated £1.5 million towards refurbishing the White Tile property.The Ayrshire Live app is.
