Emergency services race to Scots beauty spot after climber plunges 50ft off cliff

beauty spot in Fife. Emergency services raced to the scene at Hawkcraig Point, Aberdour, at around 12.35pm on Sunday, September 6.

Rescuers found the stricken climber lying on the beach having fallen around 50ft from the south-facing sea cliff. An air ambulance was also sent to the scene from Prestwick and landed nearby.

The casualty was accessed by paramedics before being airlifted to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary having sustained suspected spinal injuries.

A team from RNLI Kinghorn were also scrambled into action and raced to the scene due to the incoming tide posing a risk to rescuers.
