Easter falls on Sunday, April 4 which means everyone in the UK can look forward to the upcoming bank holidays on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
The extended weekend from April 2nd to April 5th also means that normal financial transactions will be suspended and as a result, most benefit payments that fall on those dates are changing.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) have updated their online guidance which indicates when benefits due to be paid on certain dates over Easter will be made - and most of them are going to be earlier than expected for thousands of claimants.
Anyone due to receive a benefit payment, including Universal Credit, Jobseeker’s Allowance, Employment Support Allowance, Working.
