EastEnders’ Stevie Basaula has confirmed he's leaving the hit BBC soap in the wake of speculation that his character Isaac Baptiste was leaving Albert Square.
Stevie first joined EastEnders is 2020 as Patrick Trueman's son, and said he will “cherish” the two years he spent on the programme and credited it for being part of his “growth” as an actor.
His decision comes just days after his co-star Zack Morris announced he was also leaving the show, while Maisie Smith quit late last year.
In light of the news, EastEnders producer Kate Oates said the cast and crew “miss” Stevie. “Stevie has been a huge asset to EastEnders during his time here; not least through his incredible performance across Isaac's schizophrenia story," she said. “As a member of the Trueman family, he will always be a part of one of our most iconic families.
